Bacon Roast Apples

For apple season... and you have to love how easy and gorgeous it is. Chef Michael Smith is my hero!

2 baking apples
6 slices of room temperature bacon cut in half


*        Cut each apple into six even wedge shaped pieces. Carefully trim off the center core section of each wedge.
*        Tightly wrap each wedge in a half bacon slice. Fix the ends of the bacon with a toothpick. Freeze the apples.
*        Remove from the freezer and bake at 400 degrees until the bacon is crispy, about ten to fifteen minutes.
