These go over good wiht the granola bunch:
1 cup large flake rolled oats(never use instant, icky)
1 " flour
1/4 cup melted butter
1 Tbsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp cinnamon
bit nutmeg
3 tbsp brown sugar
1 1/2 cups buttermilk
2 eggs
2 sliced bananas ( I throw all mine in freezer as they start to get too ripe
then just take them out and throw into food processor as I mix banana, eggs,
milk together)
Mix all dry ingredients in one bowl, mix all wet including banana into another and put in frig overnight.
In am mix two together and don;t over mix.
Bake, serve and top with fresh sliced bananas, dollop sour cream and warm maple
syrup. Add slices of kiwi for color.
Bob jazzes his up with a syrup made of rum,Scholgers gold liquor, bananas etc

I made these waffles this morning and found that they were too limp and hard
to manage and seemed to be too soggy, I followed the recipe but did not let
it sit overnight, maybe this was the problem. The waffles recipe is on the board,
has anyone else tried it? Mary, Kingston.

I have used it. They just need to cook a lot longer than regualar ones.
I think on my iron (large Belgian round one) that a regular waffle takes 3.20
minutes and the banana oatmeal ones take 5 minutes. I always set the minute-minder
on the stove so I don't forget the little beggers.
