1/3 cup granuated sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
3 large apples, peeled and sliced
1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
Topping:
1/2 cup quick-cooking oats (not instant)
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 cup butter
1 tbsp water
In a small bowl, mix together granulated sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. In a large bowl, mix together apples, cranberries and sugar mixture. Place fruit in lightly greased 8-inch square baking dish.
Topping: in a medium bowl, mix together oats, flour, brown sugar and cinnamon. Cut in butter until crumbly. Sprinkle water over and stir to slightly moisten crumbs. Sprinkle over fruit.
Bake in a 375 degree oven for 30 to 35 minutes, or until apples are tender.
Serve warm, with low fat vanilla frozen yogurt if desired. Makes 6 servings.
Per serving: 239 cal, 8g fat, 42 g carb, 3 g protein, 4 g fibre.
