After copying Pauline's recipe for Cream Scones the other day I found this one
in a culinary mystery called Bell Cook and Candle. Tried it with some slightly
outdated whipping cream and they are V good! Will try Paulines next.
Cranberry Cream Scones
Set oven at 400.
2 cups flour
1/4 cup sugar
1Tbsp. baking powder
dash salt
1 cup dried cranberries
1&1/4 cups whipping cream
melted butter and raw sugar (optional)
Stir dry ingredients and cranberries together, add cream. Mix thoroughly then
knead 7-8X. pat into circle 8" across, and divide into 8 sections. Or cut
with a cutter. Brush with butter and sprinkle with sugar (or not... I usually
brush with butter and sprinle with powdered suagr when hot fom oven with my
other scones)
bake about 15 min or till lightly browned.
Does anyone else find coincidence or synchronicity in everyday life? After copying Pauline's recipe it was a matter of a couple of hours till I came across this recipe in a book I was reading.Just a small example but it happens all the time.
