Hashbrown Pie


I have been making it a lot lately, but instead of sausage meat I use ground turkey or ground beef seasoned with my favourite hamburger seasonings. Italian seasoning works well too.
I only put a single layer of hashbrowns in the bottom of a pieplate (found that with a thicker layer, it wouldn't stay together).
On the hashbrowns I sprinkle 3/4 of the green onion mixed with the red peppers and cheese over top - only use about 1/2 cup.

Pour the meat/sauce over top and sprinkle with rest of green onion/red pepper mix and 1/4 cup of cheese.

Raving reviews. Generally serve it with slices of Baked Cheese Omelet Roll.

Found that changing from the sausage to the ground turkey or (lean) beef it is a lot less greasy.
