Spray your pan first.
Slice peaches to cover about 2/3 of the depth of the pan. Can be a 9x13 or 9x9, however you want to make it. It is all guesswork anyway.
For a 9x9 sprinkle about 1/2 cup white sugar over the fruit and a little cinnamon or cloves.
Make a crumb topping of equal parts white flour and brown sugar, say about 3/4 cup each. Cut about 1/4 cup butter or margarine into the flour mix until it is "crumby". Bake in 375° oven for about 15 minutes, then turn the oven back to 350° for another 15-20 min. With peaches it is done when the top is nice and browned. (peaches cook quickly)
If making a dessert like this with any frozen fruit, it is better to let the micro do it's thing and thaw it out before making the topping for it. For fresh fruit, just poke with a knife to see when it is tender.
Serve it warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
